Roller compacted concrete is similar to conventional concrete, but is a dry mix that is rigid enough to bear the weight of 20 ton vibratory rollers. RCC is typically constructed without joints, forms, finishing, steel reinforcement, or dowels. The high strength of RCC eliminates common and costly problems traditionally associated with asphalt pavements.

RCC pavements:

  • Resist rutting
  • Span soft localized subgrades
  • Will not deform under heavy, concentrated loads
  • Do not deteriorate from spills of fuels and hydraulic fluids
  • Will not soften under high temperatures.
